CEDULA RENEWAL

Observations: Panamanians living abroad who at some time have carried a personal Panamanian identity card, whether they are older or under age, may renew or process a duplicate through the Consulates.

In case the person has processed a Panamanian youth identity card, and has reached the age of majority, he or she must request the first majority id card in national territory.

The Consulates that maintain the renewal service are the following:

  • Consulate of Panama in Washington, D.C.

  • Consulate of Panama in Long Beach, California.

  • Consulate of Panama in Houston, Texas

  • Consulate of Panama in Miami, Florida

  • Consulate of Panama in New York

Steps to follow:

If it is renovation:

1) Bring the EXPIRED personal identity card; if you do not have it, you can bring your passport or some other personal identification document.

2) ONLY form of payment, through (2) Money Orders of WESTERN UNION or MONEY GRAM:

The cost is $ 150.00 which must be distributed as follows:

• A first Money Order for $ 60.00, made out to: TRIBUNAL ELECTORAL-FONDO DE RESERVA.

• A second Money Order for $ 90.00, made out to: CONSULADO DE PANAMA.

3) Please bring a Pre-paid envelope to return your cedula. The pre-paid must contain a tracking number, we recommend to use Fedex, Express mail or Priority mail from the USPS.

If it is duplicated due to loss or theft:

1) Bring passport or other personal identification document.

2) ONLY form of payment, through (2) Money Orders of WESTERN UNION or MONEY GRAM:
