Artwork Collection at the Embassy and Residence
In August of 1942, immediately following the purchase of the property, Ambassador Jaen Guardia sent a letter to Roberto Lewis, one of Panama's most distinguished artists, requesting that he paint three pieces of art that would reflect Panama's heritage. Mr. Lewis accepted the commission and the three paintings have hung in the Residence ever since.
There are also artworks of several famous Panamanian artists displayed throughout the Residence. All artworks in the residence reflect the Panamanian culture and patrimony.
