The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Panama, Alejandro Ferrer, held a high-level meeting today with the counselor of the United States Department of State, Ulrich Brechbuhl. They discussed cooperation between the two countries on investment, cybersecurity, the fight against money laundering and assistance in the face of the pandemic caused by COVID-19.
This diplomatic exchange included the participation of the Minister for Canal Affairs, Aristides Royo; the Minister of Economy and Finance, Héctor Alexander; the vice chancellor, Federico Alfaro Boyd; the Vice Minister of Multilateral Affairs and Cooperation, Erika Mouynes; the Deputy Minister of Public Security, Ivor Pitty; as well as that of the Advisor Todd Anderson and the Charge d'Affaires of the United States Embassy in Panama, Stewart Tuttle.
As a show of solidarity, the Panamanian Government received from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), 50 advanced ventilators for intensive care that will be sent to the Social Security Fund for their proper distribution. Minister Ferrer thanked the United States for this donation of valuable medical equipment that will help us continue to face the health crisis generated by COVID-19.
